The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. HJF is seeking a Research Associate III (Epidemiology) responsible for initiating and carrying out epidemiology research projects in collaboration with a research team. Pursues research along a focused line of inquiry – specifically, environmental/occupational/cancer epidemiology - and develops manuscripts and presentations of results. Some work on assurances (i.e., IRB) will be required.
This position will be in support of the John P. Murtha Cancer Center at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Rockville, Maryland.

Responsibilities -Assists in designing, developing, executing, and implementing epidemiologic research. -Carries out statistical analyses and data management using statistical software. -Performs specialized statistical analyses utilizing cutting edge methods. -Arranges for the shipment of samples and manages data pertaining to samples and quality control. -Assists with the preparation of data for presentations at scientific meetings and for publication in journals. -Assists with necessary assurances for the study (ie IRB, agreements, progress reports).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Deep understanding of epidemiologic methods and study design. -Strong skills in data analysis and management using a major statistical software, such as SAS, STATA, R, or equivalent.
