Position Description: We want to create a database of minority groups- healthy volunteers, individuals with chronic ( pulmonary, endocrine, cardiovascular) diseases- and in so doing increase access to minority groups in clinical research. We plan to do this by engaging individuals at health fairs and partnerships with the local MDs

The intern will also help us create and design a subject recruitment process that will help with increased subject participation in our current trials.

Qualifications: Completion of at least one semester (Graduate or MPH course work).

Additional qualifications: Experience with databases, electronic medical record systems and working knowledge of MicroSoft Office Suite. Familiarity with clinical trials a plus. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to work independently. Ability to interact effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

Organization Description: Covenant Pulmonary critical care clinical trial division has a mission to make clinical trials accessible to everyone, especially under represented groups. We encourage participation of people of color and minority groups in clinical trials to create more accurate and equal representation in trials. Historically minority groups have been underrepresented for many reasons.

Organization Description: CMG Foundation's mission is to help solve the systemic problems of healthcare in marginalized societies and communities by increasing access to world standard healthcare through establishment and management of healthcare facilities, including but not limited to hospitals, clinics and healthcare-related education centers. Services will also include providing evidence-based research to reduce social determinants of health in these communities.
