| Position Description: |
Develop and maintain databases, perform statistical analyses, write manuscripts, and provide tabular results and reports in support of the health services and systems research and publication agendas developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Provide project and database management for the Federal client’s pooled cardiovascular disease cohort project to include maintaining an up-to-date database and crosswalk of variables, supporting work in acquiring new or updated cohort data, and working with partners to improve utilization of the pooled data Support the maintenance of health services and systems, research strategic planning documents including a publication agenda, current activities and a 5-year health services research plan Review current methodologies and develop standardized methodologies relating to health services and systems research to include work around medication adherence, cost of medications used for treatment of heart disease and stroke and their associated risk factors, and other clinical and administrative measures to assess for optimal cardiovascular disease management Submit up to two lead author publications per year to peer-reviewed journals (or CDC MMWR), utilizing prioritized research questions annually Required Skills:
Experience analyzing extremely large data sets, strong data management skills, and strong writing skills Strong project management, planning, and organization skills, and an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast- paced environment

| Qualifications: |
Doctorate degree with a strong research background in epidemiology and health services Federal Government and management consulting firm experience a plus Experience related to Health systems/services data sets (e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, Market Scan, HCUP, Electronic Health Records data) Surveillance and research experience related to systems of care (e.g., EMS response, emergency department care, hospital care and outpatient rehabilitation) Surveillance and research experience related to community support of systems of care (e.g., community-based health care services, health insurance coverage, public health capacity and social determinants of health) Surveillance and research experience related to healthcare and spending (e.g., quality improvement efforts by health providers and systems and policy and payment structures) Experience related to cardiovascular disease, as well as other chronic diseases
