Position Description: The VA Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention is seeking a full-time Lead Research Coordinator. This position will help to execute multiple, complex VA research studies including overseeing/helping to conduct recruitment, enrollment, data collection and analysis (if needed). This position will also provide day-to-day technical, administrative and supervisory oversight to a team of research assistants and coordinators. The candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree in an Allied or Health Science field and will need to have a combination of credits and/or experience towards a master’s degree. We will need to review a college transcript and resume to determine the candidate meets the education and experience criteria.

Qualifications: Candidate should have considerable prior research experience; experience with vulnerable or mental health populations and/or within the VA is a plus. Supervisory experience is desired. The Center of Excellence is located in Canandaigua, NY but a virtual position within the U.S. will be considered. This position has a 1 year probationary period and is renewable based on performance and continued funding. This full- time position and includes a full benefits package. U.S. citizenship is a requirement of employment with the VA.

Organization Description: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) established the Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention (CoE) in August 2007 with the overarching mission to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with Veteran suicide. Since its inception, the CoE has been guided by a public health approach to suicide prevention. Consistent with this framework, the Center’s robust research program is designed to inform the development and use of evidence-based prevention strategies across broad categories of risk (universal, selective, indicated) for use with Veteran populations. The CoE is currently comprised of an interdisciplinary research team representing the diverse fields of public health, psychology, psychiatry, epidemiology, health communication, health services, economics, sociology, nursing and social work. There are more than 50 staff members employed by the CoE.
