Position Description: |
This is entry level professional work participating in the analysis and reporting of assigned health programs, regulations, policies, procedures, or data.
An employee in this job studies and analyzes assigned public health programs, regulations, policies, procedures, or data; prepares reports with recommendations for improvement; and participates in implementing recommendations. Work involves developing hypotheses; gathering, organizing, and evaluating qualitative or quantitative data, including literature reviews, data sets, or other resources; and preparing and delivering presentations, narratives, or reports on findings and recommendations. Work also involves assisting higher level public health staff in projects or work assignments, or observing and participating in meetings, trainings, and other learning experiences to gain knowledge of public health infrastructure and laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. Work is reviewed in progress and upon completion by a Public Health Program Administrator or administrative supervisor for completeness, technical accuracy, and quality.
As a Public Health Program Associate 1, your tasks include developing procurement requests such as requests for applications, proposals, and master agreements with universities. You also monitor vendor statement deliverables and compliance, vendor invoicing and fiscal management, and provide technical assistance to vendors as needed. In addition, you identify and work to resolve vendor compliance issues and, when warranted, escalates unresolved issues.
Other duties include supporting the Data Modernization Initiative (DMI) director in grant application, serving on various committees, boards, or task forces that support DMI’s efforts, and possessing and using professional knowledge to explain policies and procedures to others outside of the work unit.

Qualifications: |
A bachelor’s degree in health, social or behavioral sciences, statistics, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
