Position Description: NYU’s Department of Nutrition and Food Studies is seeking candidates for a non- tenure-track visiting position in nutrition, rank open. The position will begin in January 2024. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years. The Steinhardt School provides undergraduate and graduate education in the areas of culture, education, and human development, and includes several departments focused on health and health services.

We are seeking candidates with a strong teaching background and experience conducting nutrition research to support our accredited bachelors and masters programs in clinical nutrition. The clinical nutrition program trains individuals to promote health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases and obesity through educational and environmental approaches to improved nutrition and physical activity. Candidates with practice or research experience in clinical or applied nutrition or nutrition/behavioral education are encouraged to apply. Prior experience should complement the existing faculty in nutrition, food studies and public health. The candidate will be expected to be an active, accomplished teacher and to engage in the intellectual life of the program and the department. Responsibilities: The candidate is expected to teach in the undergraduate and master’s programs, supervise PhDs, and conduct scholarship in nutrition. Qualifications: Qualifications: Candidates should have a doctoral degree in nutrition or a closely related field. Registered dietitians are especially encouraged to apply. The candidate must have a strong commitment to teaching, research and mentoring of graduate students.
