Position Description: The Alliance received a one-year grant from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Violence Prevention Rape Prevention Education program to assess our coalition’s capacity to advance primary prevention of sexual violence in Connecticut. The Prevention Assessment Coordinator is a grant-funded one-year guaranteed position responsible for leading this primary prevention capacity assessment with a focus on health equity. This position ends on June 30, 2024.

The Prevention Assessment Coordinator is a full-time position with benefits. The position reports to the Director of Programs and Standards. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. ? Develop an assessment plan and timeline for conducting the capacity assessment ? Plan, convene, and co-facilitate an advisory group to provide input and feedback on the capacity assessment planning, implementation, results, and recommendations ? Identify best practices for implementing capacity assessments ? Identify validated capacity assessment tools that look at staffing and resources, skills and expertise, collaboration and partnerships (including what partnerships already exist and gaps), and data and evaluation ? Develop additional materials and tools to carry out the assessment, as needed ? Vet capacity assessment plans and tools with project advisory group ? Convene appropriate representatives from each of the nine member centers to attend an introductory meeting about this project ? Convene Alliance staff and staff from all nine sexual assault crisis member centers including, but not limited to, prevention staff, prevention department leadership, sexual violence program leadership, and organizational leadership to attend an introductory meeting about this project and participate in the assessment as outline in the assessment plan ? Meet with state and community stakeholders and partners ? Review existing quantitative and qualitative data relevant to the assessment ? Analyze findings from capacity assessment ? Present findings from capacity assessment to The Alliance, member centers, and the advisory group ? With input from the advisory group and member centers, develop recommendations based on the findings from the assessment

Qualifications: ? Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to anti-violence issues and violence against women issues ? Experience conducting community assessments ? Experience in coordinating and facilitating meetings ? Excellent oral and written communication skills ? Some data analytics skills – both quantitative (basic descriptive statistics) and qualitative ? Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects ? Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience ? Reliable transportation ? Ability to work some nights and weekends

The Alliance mission is to end sexual violence and ensure high quality, comprehensive, and culturally competent sexual assault victim services.
