Position Title: SHA/SHIP Program Manager Location: Remote Position End Date: 6/30/2024 Salary: $105,000 plus benefits
Overview:
The CDC Foundation is seeking a Massachusetts State Health Assessment (SHA) / State Health Improvement Plans (SHIP) Program Manager to support the planning and implementation of steps leading to a dynamic, web-based Massachusetts SHA/ SHIP and improved data sharing process among Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) programs. The SHA/SHIP Program Manager will be responsible for establishing a coordinating team with weekly status reporting, drafting regular PowerPoints for MDPH staff updates, collaborate with the community engagement unit, the Epidemiology Community of Practice, and the Population Health Information Tool Team.
Responsibilities:
· Work with DPH staff to develop, implement, enhance data collection, and data updates utilizing efficient processes. · Fosters and maintains peer-to-peer relationships with subject matter experts, donors, partners, and other collaborators aimed at efficient and effective program implementation. · Serves as programmatic liaison for and between internal and external collaborators. · Directs significant matters such as program development, program budgeting, and auditing/evaluating program impact and performance. · Familiar with the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) standards and measures/requirements specific to the State Health Assessment and State Health Improvement Plan and makes recommendations to project team. · Formulates program-related goals, objectives, operating policies, strategic plans, guidelines, governance, standards, and priorities to ensure consistency with departmental standard operating procedures. · Contributes to resource mobilization efforts for the assigned programs in consultation and collaboration with internal and external collaborators. · Navigates complex data systems and structures to ensure a streamlined visualization of the Massachusetts State Health Assessment and State Health Improvement Plan. · Participate in components of the data modernization initiative. · Conduct quality assurance testing of the Population Health Information Tool (PHIT) as needed for relevant SHA/SHIP program elements. · Identify opportunities to promote the data modernization initiative as an ambassador for bringing additional data sets into PHIT/Public Health Data Warehouse. · Prepares, finalizes, and submits narrative and financial reports or updates in collaboration with internal and external collaborators. · Prepares and monitors program-related post- award contracts and agreements. · Serves as the contact person in the absence of team members · Represents the CDC Foundation at technical, policy, and strategic planning meetings with internal and external collaborator and evaluate strategies that meet public health missions and goals. · Keep abreast of and develop specialized knowledge of significant COVID-19 related datasets. · Support projects that enhance public health/public safety collaborations through the identification of appropriate local partners, qualitative and quantitative data collection, and dissemination of project findings.

This role is involved in a dynamic public health program. As such, roles and responsibilities are subject to change as situations evolve. Roles and responsibilities listed above may be expanded upon or updated to match priorities and needs, once written approval is received by both the CDC Foundation and Massachusetts Department of Public Health, in order to best support the State of Massachusetts in their public health programming.
This position is currently a remote position. CDC Foundation retains the right to make adjustments to this as required. Qualifications: |
Minimum Qualifications:
· BA or BS in public health, communication, or another related field · Must have experience equivalent to 5-7 years of public health experience preferred at the national, state, or local level. · Professional experience in public health in a program management role or experience as management analyst demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and leadership. Philanthropic, nonprofit or government, and/or public health leadership preferred. · Experience working collaboratively with diverse collaborators and engaging in strategic partnerships, demonstrating and prioritizing customer service, and cultural humility. · Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment while balancing multiple competing priorities. · Excellent judgment and decision-making, with strong analytical skills, business intuition, and business acumen. · Experience in leading program planning, implementation, and continuous quality improvement. · Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; collegial, energetic and able to develop productive relationships with colleagues, and internal/external partners, particularly in a hybrid working environment · Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Teams, Forms, Excel, Word, Planner, and PowerPoint · Strong organizational skills · Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
· Advanced degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business, or another related field · Experience in coordination of a needs assessment/improvement plans such as a state or community health improvement plan and/or state or community health improvement plan (SHA/CHA or SHIP/CHIP) or similar planning and implementation of organizational improvement efforts. · Understanding and utilization of tools for project management.
