Position Description: Would you like to work at one of the nation’s most respected, mission-driven organizations? If so, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is seeking a Child & Community Health Specialist to provide project and administrative support for Child and Community Health (CCH) programs and activities, including budget and expense report management; contract and consulting agreement preparation and execution; educational content development; and web and collaboration site development and management.

Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm, with a 1-hour lunch.

Qualifications needed: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience. Knowledge of public health principles. • At least two years’ related general administrative or project coordination experience required, including coordinating project components, budget management, meeting coordination, and drafting correspondence. Experience maintaining web pages and collaboration sites preferred, as well as working in an association or with grant or public health projects. • Excellent organizational, project management, verbal/written communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and budgeting skills required. • Some overtime, weekend work, and travel required.

Some tasks include: • Coordinate budget development, expense monitoring, variance reporting, and forecasting of Early Childhood Initiatives (ECI), Institute for Healthy Childhood Weight (IHCW), and other assigned budgets in collaboration with VP and Directors. e Develop, maintain, and support staff in the use of budget tracking systems. • Reconcile and process all credit card statements and expense reports for the VP, Child and Community Health and other CCH staff as assigned. • Support development and execution of contracts, consulting agreements, and outgoing grant awards, working with the project leads and Finance staff to ensure compliance with all American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and funder requirements. • In partnership with project leads, develop and submit applications for continuing medical education (CME) and maintenance of certification (MOC) credit for select CCH programs. Develop and implement CME and MOC credit tracking systems and draft reports to CME and MOC oversight entities. • Support development of educational or informational programs (e.g., webinars, self- guided annotated presentations, videos). Edit and publish content.
