Position Description:

As a Senior Epidemiologist in the Department of Health's Office of Communicable Disease Epidemiology, you will lead and supervise the Outbreak Response in Non-healthcare Congregate Settings (NHCS) program. Your responsibilities include managing a team that performs surveillance, outbreak investigation, and develops disease mitigation guidance for COVID-19, legionella, and other diseases of public health significance in diverse settings such as schools, workplaces, and correctional facilities. Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with local health jurisdictions is a key function of this role. Reporting directly to the OCDE Deputy Director, you will play an important role in achieving the office's mission, overseeing daily operations, managing staff and projects, and securing resources for the NHCS program. Option 1: A Master's degree in epidemiology.

Option 2: A Master's degree in public health including 12 graduate quarter hours (500 level or above) in epidemiology and 12 graduate quarter hours in biostatistics, and eight years of experience working in the field of epidemiology.

AND both of the following:

Two (2) or more years of supervisory experience in a public health or equivalent setting. Two (2) or more years working in a communicable disease epidemiology control program.
