As a Behavioral Health Reviewer/Investigator, you will be a key player in supporting our department's mission to work with others to protect and improve the health of people in Washington State by providing professional and technical expertise in conducting inspections and investigations in state regulated Behavioral Health Agencies and Residential Treatment Facilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Conducting on-site and off-site inspections and investigations in multiple geographical areas within Washington State determining compliance with state and federal health and safety standards and regulations in public and privately-owned behavioral health providers or programs applying professional judgment, skills, and knowledge. Utilizing computer programs and databases in conjunction with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations to create written reports and give verbal explanations of inspection or investigation findings. Providing education and technical assistance on compliance with state and federal health and safety regulations of assigned facilities. Working collaboratively within the Department of Health and across other state, federal, county and city agencies to further the department’s regulatory responsibilities. Participating in legal proceedings related to enforcement actions associated with assigned inspections and investigations.

Option 1: Six (6) or more years of experience working in law, criminal justice, law enforcement or public safety, social work, social science, counseling, public or private sector health-related industry, or in an investigative, regulatory, or other related field.

Option 2: A bachelor's degree or higher in law, criminal justice, law enforcement or public safety, social work, social science, counseling, public health, health care administration, or other related field; AND two (2) or more years of professional experience in a public or private sector health-related industry, or in an investigative, regulatory, or other related field.
