As the Molecular Epidemiology Coordinator, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by leading our office's genetic data collection, analysis, and dissemination and developing an ethical framework for these activities. Your primary focus will be ensuring that our programs align with community input and enhance public health outcomes. This includes identifying knowledge gaps, conducting outreach for public opinion, aligning agency policies, publishing best practices, and leading assessments for viral diseases. Additionally, you'll manage epidemiologic investigations, develop policies, and explore uses for molecular and other disease cluster data in novel conditions. Work Setting

This full-time, permanent Epidemiologist 3 position’s duty station is homebased. Telework (mobile work) is currently expected. Required in-office work is rare and infrequent and would be scheduled in advance.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications

Experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis. Experience may have been gained concurrently though a combination of education, professional experience, and paid or unpaid experience. Option 1: A Doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health, health care administration, public or business administration, or allied field with coursework in epidemiology, data science, statistics, research, research design, biostatistics, or closely related areas; AND one (1) year of management or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program. OR Option 2: A Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health, health care administration, public or business administration, or allied field with coursework in epidemiology, data science, statistics, research, research design, biostatistics, or closely related areas; AND four (4) years of management or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program. OR Option 3: A Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health, health care administration, public or business administration, or allied field with coursework in epidemiology, data science, statistics, research, research design, biostatistics, or closely related areas; AND six (6) years of management or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program. AND for all the above options must have: Experience in analyzing and interpreting infectious disease sequencing data. Experience in community engagement or consensus building among diverse groups. Experience in analyzing and interpreting population health data to identify strengths, limitations, biases, and confounding, and applying other epidemiologic principles.
