Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to provide administrative and secretarial support to the staff of an assigned department.
Essential Functions
The Administrtative Assistant-Community Relations is responsible for the following essential functions:
Provides customer service for patients and guests, provides information, and answers general questions, makes referrals to other individuals, departments, agencies.
Copies and maintains logs, spreadsheets, data files and mail merge files. Maintains files on purchase orders, work orders and other documents.
Ensured the main lobby was well-maintained, fully stocked with resources and guides, and always kept in orderly condition.
Tasked with developing the Lost and Found procedures for the Health Department, including the creation and upkeep of a detailed logbook for items.
Maintained up-to-date resources for the public.
Responsible for making and updating the security binder.
Certified mental health first aid instructor.
Sorts and reviews or delivers mail. Transmits records and other documents to other departments as necessary
Additional Job Functions
Respond to and report immediately if called upon by local, regional, or central office supervisors, as part of a coordinated emergency response by the Knox County Mayor’s Office
Ensure regular, punctual attendance during scheduled work hours.
Perform other duties as required
