Position Dimensions:
1. This position requires strong administrative experience with project and program organization and management, as well as strong written and oral communications skills. The project manager must be able to demonstrate the ability to meet high quality standards while operating under time- sensitive conditions with a variety of participants.
2. Experience organizing and administering time-sensitive projects or programs in a health-related, public health, or academic setting is strongly preferred.
3. This role will be engaged with a standard Immunize.org hourly consultant contract. Hours worked each week are variable: weekly virtual NAIIS meetings shift to a monthly cadence during summer months, while hours increase when planning and executing the annual in-person meeting. In most weeks, approximately 10-15 hours per week is expected.
4. A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a biomedical or public health field required; MA/MS or MPH preferred.
5. Under the direction and guidance of NAIIS leadership, the consultant should have the ability to apply scientific principles and findings in the development, implementation, and evaluation of immunization policy.
6. Excellent critical thinking, problem- solving, organizing and writing skills are essential. Use of standard MS Office software, video conferencing software, and project management software, (e.g., Asana) is expected in the role.
7. Professional speaking, writing, and strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain internal and external relationships with NAIIS participants and leaders are necessary.
8. Demonstration of skills to ensure volunteer NAIIS contributors meet needed deadlines is preferred.
9. Travel required for the annual in-person NAIIS meeting and when ad hoc in-person meetings are needed (typically fewer than 10 days of travel each year)
10. This independent consultant position pays an hourly rate commensurate with experience; it does not include benefits or equipment/software.
