THE POSITION The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH), is currently seeking an experienced individual for the position of Epidemiologist 1 (Toxic Hazards) within the Environmental Health & Drinking Water (EHDW) Branch’s Environmental Health Section. The selected candidate will perform daily data collection and entry, as well as using quality assurance measures for child lead poisoning surveillance. Responsibilities will include the collection of blood lead data from mandated reporters, identification of reporting issues, outreach to reporting entities to ensure compliance with reporting requirements, data matching, collaboration in the preparation and presentation of workshops, and communication with the general public to answer lead poisoning and radon related questions. This Epidemiologist 1 position is a permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week position. This position is based out of Hartford, CT. Hybrid schedule allowed with approval. A flex schedule may be permitted following the successful completion of a working test period.
