Position Description: |
The postdoc will be responsible for supporting Dr. Vasudevan with the implementation of the Chanjo Kwa Wakati (CKW) (meaning, “timely vaccination”) study. The CKW study aims to promote timely childhood vaccinations in two predominantly rural regions in Tanzania. The CKW study focuses on pregnant individuals and on mother-child dyads after delivery. In a type 1 effectiveness-implementation hybrid study, the study team will evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of a multicomponent intervention comprising autonomous mobile phone-based reminders, individualized knowledge intervention, stockout notifications, and incentives on the timeliness of childhood vaccinations. The postdoc will be responsible for designing, adapting, and implementing strategies to increase the reach, adoption, implementation, and maintenance of the intervention. The postdoc will be responsible for supporting the design of data collection instruments, data analysis, manuscript development, and dissemination of findings. The postdoc will mentor other graduate or undergraduate students on CKW study-related activities. Travel to Tanzania is recommended once a year and duration of the trip is negotiable (minimum 2 weeks). The postdoc will also support the development of a follow-on grant proposal for a type 2 hybrid study building on the current CKW study. Funding for the CKW study ends in August-2027. The postdoc will be encouraged to apply for external funding to fund part of their time on an independent project after year 1 and based on their career trajectory of interest.
