This position will work within our Facility Licensing and Investigations Section (FLIS) of the Healthcare Quality and Safety Branch. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Organizing and implementing the healthcare licensing program. Overseeing components of the program such as staffing, work assignments, and working with other stakeholders related to licensure activities. Overseeing the processing of licensure renewals, change of ownerships applications, relocations, waiver requests and review of new applications. Interpreting state statutes, state regulations, and federal regulations pertaining to facility licenses, develop protocols and answer questions from facility administrators, the public, attorneys, and consultants. Gathering fiscal and programmatic data on the licensure programs and participate in planning budget and programmatic aspects of licensure programs. The Facility Licensing and Investigations Section more commonly known as "FLIS" licenses, monitors, inspects and investigates complaints involving a variety of facilities and services. It performs federal certification inspections in health care facilities participating in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs and identifies deficiencies that may affect that facility's state licensure or eligibility for federal reimbursement.
