WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Organizing and implementing the healthcare licensing program. Overseeing components of the program such as staffing, work assignments, and working with other stakeholders related to licensure activities. Overseeing the processing of licensure renewals, change of ownerships applications, relocations, waiver requests and review of new applications. Interpreting state statutes, state regulations, and federal regulations pertaining to facility licenses, develop protocols and answer questions from facility administrators, the public, attorneys, and consultants. Gathering fiscal and programmatic data on the licensure programs and participate in planning budget and programmatic aspects of licensure programs. The Facility Licensing and Investigations Section more commonly known as "FLIS" licenses, monitors, inspects and investigates complaints involving a variety of facilities and services. It performs federal certification inspections in health care facilities participating in the Medicare and/or Medicaid programs and identifies deficiencies that may affect that facility's state licensure or eligibility for federal reimbursement.

A health care organization is defined as a large multi-dimensional agency with responsibility for developing health programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in health education, hospital administration, public administration or public health may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience. For state employees one (1) year as a Health Program Associate may substitute for the General and Special Experience.
