The UCSF HEAL Initiative recruits US-trained physicians from various specialties who are passionate about global health equity.
The fellowship immerses fellows at partner organizations serving the underserved at both a US and an International site. Half of the HEAL fellows are US physicians, and half are fellows from our partner sites, creating an incredibly diverse training community.
Applicants have the option to do a 1-year fellowship, or extend for a 2nd year. The HEAL (Health, Equity, Action, and Leadership) Initiative is a community of 200+ frontline health professionals committed to serving the underserved.
International placement opportunities in Mexico, Rwanda, Malawi, and Nepal. US placement opportunities serving the Navajo people at Indian Health Service sites in Gallup, NM and Chinle, AZ and serving migrant farm workers in Fresno, CA.
