Position Description: The candidate will have the opportunity to lead both methodological as well as collaborative research projects in current large-scale population-based genetic, genomic, and epidemiologic studies of cancers. Broad scientific goals include, but are not limited to:

Discovery of new molecular biomarkers of cancers through analyses of multi-omics Modeling, and developing genetic risk- partitioning approaches Integration of external functional annotation in genetic association studies and fine- mapping Novel strategies for association analysis with rare variants

Qualifications: Candidates should have (or expect to have soon) a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, or a related field, with extensive statistical/quantitative training, and strong computational skills. The candidate should be team oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an interest to develop statistical methods focused on applications in cancer genetics and genomics. Preferred qualifications include previous experience in problems related to genetics, handling genetic/genomic data and proficiency in R, Python or C++.

Organization Description: The Division of Cancer Epidemiology & Genetics is a world-renowned research organization focused on discovering the genetic and environmental determinants of cancer and developing new approaches to cancer prevention. The Division’s research informs public health policy in the United States and around the world. In particular, the mission of ITEB is to conduct large- scale, international epidemiological research on cancer etiology and progression through integrative analyses of risk factors and tissue profiling to inform prevention and clinical strategies. Investigators in the branch offer extraordinary opportunities for fellows to develop skills in genetics, genomics, and epidemiology to identify risk factors for cancer using large, population- based studies and through external collaborations.
