The Global operations and Program Development team at the nation’s leading advocacy organization for children’s healthcare seeks a project management minded individual with the ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously within tight deadlines to manage the existing American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) portfolio for global health education directed at both members and international learners, including the Global Health Education Course (GHEC) and Global Health Education for Equity, Antiracism and Decolonization (GHEARD) project.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Operations and Program Development, the Manager Global Health Education will manage the development of new global health curricula and key partnerships; write grant applications to fund development of new global health curricula, as well as field testing, implementation, and evaluation of curricula; and oversee the coordination and implementation of relevant studies related to global education.
Qualifications Include:
• Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
• At least three years’ related experience in coordinating or managing public health programs required, including training/educational programs, collaborating with various internal and external constituents, drafting/editing communications, and budget management.
• Experience with adult or continuing education, global initiatives, needs assessment, writing federal or foundation grants/contracts, and working in a professional association strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, verbal/written communication, critical thinking, project management, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills required.
• Must be able to handle a heavy workload, take initiative, lead cross- functional teams, manage budgets, pay close attention to detail, coordinate logistical challenges of international programs, communicate with cultural sensitivity, think creatively, work both independently and as part of a team.
• Collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents and maintain a positive and cooperative team- oriented work environment with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Strong technical acumen essential with proficiency in MS Office and the ability to learn apply new technologies; experience with web editing software (e.g., SharePoint), databases, virtual meeting platforms (e.g., WebEx, Teams), document collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint), and social media platforms preferred.
• Knowledge of foreign language(s) desirable.
• Domestic and international travel and evening/weekend work required, along with the need for flexibility in arranging work schedules to accommodate physicians’ availability.
