The State of Connecticut, Department of Public Health (DPH) is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as an Epidemiologist 4. This position will lead and direct the Office of Health Equity. See below for additional information on this great opportunity!

HIGHLIGHTS Office: Office of Health Equity Location: 410 Capitol Ave, Hartford, CT Work Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week Schedule: First shift, Typically Monday through Friday Please note: Partial telework may be available depending on the needs of the agency and in accordance with policies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Comprehensive Health Data Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of health data to identify disparities and inequities in health outcomes, access to care, and other relevant factors. Utilize advanced epidemiological methods to ensure robust and accurate findings. Analysis of Environmental and Social Factors: Assess the impact of various environmental and social determinants on health outcomes, including legislation, research projects, health interventions, global events, environmental changes, and community-based programs. Integrate findings into comprehensive health equity initiatives. Interpretation and Communication: Interpret complex data findings and communicate them effectively to diverse audiences, including policymakers, public health professionals, and community stakeholders. Translate technical information into actionable insights and strategies. Leadership in Report Production: Lead the creation, planning, and production of the CT DPH OHE Data Report. Ensure that the report reflects the latest research and data trends, effectively communicates key findings, and serves as a valuable resource for decision- makers and stakeholders. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE Nine (9) years of experience in epidemiological investigations in a responsible technical or professional capacity. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE One (1) year of the General Experience must have involved program administration including disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, interviews and performing complex analyses at the level of an Epidemiologist 3. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years' for a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in community medicine, public health or a related health science may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience. A Doctorate in a related discipline such as medicine, public health or a behavioral or natural science may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience.
