Position Description: Job Summary The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Assessment on the Dahlonega or Gainesville campus. This position supports the Institutional Effectiveness Office by maintaining and improving university-wide assessment in academic programs as required by SACSCOC. Supports the assessment and reporting of the UNG QEP.

Responsibilities Advise and support department heads, program assessment coordinators and faculty on developing assessment plans for both new and existing programs. Create student learning outcomes, design measures and rubrics to assess student proficiency of those outcomes, analyze the data, create data reports for programs, and work with program faculty to identify data-driven opportunities that improve the program and student learning. Utilize an assessment software platform to house and report assessment information. Support accreditation efforts by guiding assessment and reporting of the UNG QEP. Support best assessment practices during the design and implementation of institutional and system level programs and initiatives. Coordinate and administer standardized assessment instruments. Analyze and report results. Serve on and provide support to University committees.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of a variety of methods of academic assessment and program evaluation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to develop and foster relationships with faculty and staff. Effective use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to master new technologies. Ability to consult with and advise faculty on assessment methods/models. Ability to analyze and interpret assessment results. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize assessment software to manage data and create reports.

Required Qualifications Master's degree required. At least three years, full-time work experience in higher education, statistics, research, and/or social science.
