Position Description: The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health (CPH) at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applicants for one or more open-rank, tenure- track or tenured positions in epidemiology, with a special focus on non-communicable disease epidemiology. The position is an academic year appointment (9 months) with an opportunity to supplement salary during the summer. The anticipated starting date for the position is August 2025. Applicants at all ranks will be considered.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a terminal degree (PhD, MD, or other relevant degree) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Public Health, or a closely related field. Applicants at all ranks will be considered. Candidates should have a proven track record of work in epidemiology and health research. Applicants should be working in an area related to non- communicable diseases, including violence, cardiovascular diseases and conditions, sexual and reproductive health, maternal and child health, birth defects, mental health, substance use, chronic diseases, health disparities, and other areas.

Organization Description: UGA is a land grant and sea grant research university with more than 40,000 students, 18 schools and colleges, and 7,700 faculty, located in Athens. Athens is approximately 65 miles northeast of Atlanta and has a rich cultural and intellectual environment that coexists with the university, featuring diverse arts and music, a thriving downtown, college athletics, and historic neighborhoods. UGA provides excellent opportunities to work collaboratively in a multi- disciplinary environment. UGA investigators, within and outside of the College of Public Health, are engaged in a wide spectrum of public health and biomedical research. Many UGA investigators maintain strong collaborations with investigators at other Georgia institutions (e.g., Emory University, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and beyond. Current non-communicable disease strengths within the Epidemiology and Biostatistics department include: sexual and reproductive health, violence, adolescent health, maternal and child health, cardiovascular health, birth defects, health inequities, healthcare access, health impacts of policies, and more. .
