Posting Close Date: 11/14/2024 The Division of Research Services at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria (UICOMP) is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time Research Associate. Under direction of the Director of the Division of Research Services, the Research Associate will assist in research activities and participate in a variety of collaborative projects. This candidate will work on projects largely focused on reducing health disparities, in particular mental health and substance use. This candidate will apply research principles and relevant subject matter knowledge relevant to administer a research project. With a moderate level of direction, the Research Associate will manage research- related duties and tasks. In addition, they will support data collection efforts, conduct literature reviews, and help write reports or manuscripts. This candidate will ensure project compliance with different policies, procedures, and perform other related work as needed.
Position Summary
This position conducts research by preparing literature reviews and assisting with the collection, entering, coding and cleaning of data and descriptive results.
Duties & Responsibilities
Research
Perform surveys, interviews, observations or uses other methods according to established research protocols. Prepare data for analysis and execute details of studies. Perform analysis and document results. May conduct literature searches. Order study supplies and maintain inventories.
Communication
Maintain detailed records of results and prepare written reports. Maintain and process required paperwork. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinating research activities including scheduling, tracking, and completing study activities in preparation and during the study period. Activities can include collection of qualitative and quantitative data and data analysis Work closely with the principal investigator to ensure correct implementation and compliance with study protocols. Develop training materials for new staff or learners. Develop and compile summary data, progress reports, IRB submissions, and support for presentations. Communicate in an effective and professional manner with all members of the research team, study participants, and learners. Support the principal investigator with administrative tasks
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in social science or related field required. Knowledge of fundamental research concepts, practices and procedures. Entry level knowledge of research methods.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred 1 year experience in participating in research studies preferred
