Position Description: The Center for Vaccine Equity (CVE) works to ensure all people have equal access to life- saving vaccines by expanding availability, supporting vaccine impact studies, and building delivery systems that facilitate access in developing countries. CVE also serves as Secretariat for several global health partnerships that advance this mission. The Brighton Collaboration is a program of CVE. The Safety Platform for Emergency Vaccines (SPEAC) is a CEPI-funded project of the Brighton Collaboration. Under the direction of the SPEAC Program Manager and Project Lead, the Communications Manager supports the Project's communication needs. Serves as a liaison and key spokesperson to various committees and organizations. Responds to inquiries and assist in promoting the program. Supports strategy development and the management of daily operations. May collaborate with representatives from private, government, and international agencies. Designs new initiatives and writes publishable articles and papers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the integrated communication and promotion of divisional programs and services. Collaborates with others to develop and implement programs and communications materials for targeted audiences which enhance awareness and utilization of divisional programs and services. Creates effective promotional materials including articles, brochures, forms and flyers. Designs, oversees and updates a website to educate and to promote activities and programs; coordinates website with other related websites. May manage a budget. May assist in evaluating, measuring and responding to issues related to the quality of services provided. May conduct evaluations, surveys and focus groups to assist in quality improvement efforts. Researches constituents' satisfaction with divisional programs and services. Develops reports and recommendations to sustain high quality. May supervise or provide direction to staff. Leads projects as assigned. Serves as an internal marketing consultant for programs and services. May be responsible for managing various aspects of social media activities. Performs related responsibilities as required.Raise awareness of the SPEAC Project and Products: Increase the visibility of the project and the use of SPEAC products (e.g., case definitions, companion guides, vaccine safety templates, and other related materials) among key stakeholders Exchange information and establish synergies with other networks and entities working in vaccine safety and facilitate the uptake and implementation of tools on a wider scale Manage SPEAC-specific information on the Brighton Collaboration website Develop communications strategy and associated materials: Support the development and implementation of SPEAC/CEPI communications strategy, and define relevant Key Performance Indicators to track and measure communications strategy implementation and success. Create a mechanism for tracking communication deliverables or touchpoints (e.g., database, tracker) and use it as a day-to-day tool for monitoring communication efforts-Create, review, and manage various communications documents (e.g., project overviews, internal program updates, and other related materials) Disseminate proactive and reactive documents about safety communications generated by SPEAC Develop and maintain a contacts database of stakeholders and an events calendar Serve as the primary liaison between SPEAC and the CEPI communications team, including the creation and management of a regularly distributed CEPI-specific newsletter Engage with partners to create a social media strategy and deploy targeted messages using these channels as deemed appropriate Maintain and encourage regular communication with vaccine developers, specifically: Engage with CEPI-funded and non-CEPI-funded vaccine developers and other stakeholders regularly to encourage and assess their use of SPEAC products and outcomes (e.g., via regularly scheduled webinars and in conjunction with other communication activities) Keep the SPEAC Executive Board and all vaccine-development partners updated on communication efforts via periodic reporting (e.g., virtual Executive Board calls, email correspondence, and communication tracker updates)

Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, art or other related field. Five years of experience in the development of marketing and informational materials, writing/research, project management and/or information technology. Additional related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of publishing and other related software. Demonstrated creativity in the design of marketing, public relations or educational programs and communications materials.
